Spring in Norway
Join a workshop from the beautiful coast of Norway and up into the high altitude of the Norwegian Fjell. We visit the bird island called Runde to see skuas, Northern gannets and Atlantic puffins. Then we make our way up into the mountains of Dovrefjell to find springarrivals, moose and, of course, the impressive muskox.

Runde: At the heart of the Norwegian Coast!
Welcome to an experience full of wildlife photography in the stunning landscape off the Norwegian Coast! Runde is an island most famous for its bird cliff, home tens of thousands of Puffins. Though there is so much more to find: Northern Gannets, Razorbills and Common Guillemots nest in the steep cliffs, White-tailed eagle soar through the air, Great Skuas watch the hills, and sometimes Otters make the east coast their home. There is a plenty of opportunities for landscape photography. The video to the left gives you an idea of what kind of photos and material you can get in just on single afternoon and evening session. Runde does not dissapoint! On our fourth day, we move on to the mountains of Dovrefjell.
Dovrefjell: Alpine mammals and bird paradise!
We arrive in the evening and move into our cozy cabins at Dovrefjell Lodge. The next days are filled with bird walks in the many hotspots here in the alpine fjell of Norway. Spring brings many migratory birds to the mountains, such as dotterels or golden plovers, but also different pipers and the temminck’s stint. If we are lucky we can meet lapland longspurs or short-eared owls. We will embrace the early morning and late evening of the long summer days to get the best out of the light conditions.
Besides birds, there is also some of the most impressive mammals of the North to find. Moose walk the marshes and muskoxen roam the high altitudes of Dovrefjell.
Creativity & Quality Over Repetitive Quantity
Many people come home with the ever same close up portrait pictures taken of puffins. I will make sure to help you work creatively and come home with a variety of photos that you look forward to edit for many weeks after.
We will try out long and double exposures on not only landscape compositions, and try to use different editing styles and techniques. We will climb close to the surge to get beneath the waves on our shots.
